Green Room

This homely room caters for 15 little ones aged 3 months to 2 years.

The child to staff ratio is 1:3.
A safe and stimulating environment, with age appropriate resources, helps children to develop curiosity, coordination and physical skills. Babies and children are able to rest and feed according to their individual needs, and a daily report is written by your child's key person for you to take home so you know exactly what your child has been doing that day.

Red Room

This room welcomes 16 children aged between 2-3 years with a staff ratio of 1:4.

The room is divided into areas to support children's developmental needs. There is a messy area with access to sand, water and craft activities, a quiet area for resting and sharing stories, climbing apparatus and a large role play area. In addition to this, the children have access to a large, well resourced outdoor play area.

Integrated Foundation Stage Unit

With space for 35 children, this room is for 3-4 year olds, and has a staff ratio of 1:8.

We share space and resources with the reception class children to support children's transition from early years care to school and encourage independence.
As children become more interested in social play such as role play, construction and playing games, resources are provided to support their play and learning experiences. Practitioners encourage children's individual development and provide a wide range of structured activities to ensure a smooth transition to Primary School.
Ireland Wood Children's Centre do support a number of local Primary Schools, however please be aware that a place in the Foundation Stage unit does not automatically guarantee a place in Ireland Wood Primary School.
